How much does Bridal Alterations cost?

As every dress and body is so different, Sarah charges per individual service and will communicate that pricing at the 1st fitting (which is no obligation). Payment is not due until the 2nd fitting! Most brides' alterations begin at $500+ in alterations, with lace/beading costing higher than non-embellished gowns.

Can I do an alterations consultation?

Absolutely! You may book at sarahkolis.com. As this is in addition to the included 2 fittings for bridal alterations, there is a $75 charge for this additional appointment. All alterations services and a price quote will be discussed at this fitting! Keep in mind, this is optional!

Can you steam my dress?

At your first fitting appointment, mention to Sarah that you would like the dress steamed! Veils may be steamed too and Sarah will package them up nicely for travel. If this is a destination event, it is best to package the dress nicely and steam it at the final location.

Can I bring people with me to my fitting?

Of course! This is a special moment and Sarah encourages any family/friends to attend with you! However, try to keep it to a 2-car maximum if possible!

Do you do modesty Build-ups?

Yes! These are for those brides wanting the high neck, added sleeves, and collar style for full modesty. These custom projects run at $800+ for the build-up.

Do you do custom sleeves?

Yes! These begin at $350 for fully custom sleeves. Or for a less expensive option, purchase pre-made sleeves from your bridal boutique, David's Bridal, or Etsy! From there, Sarah can just sew them in!

What do I need to bring with me to my fitting?

Dress and shoes are most important! Also bring any particular undergarments and accessories you wish to try on, and the veil too if you would like to have that steamed!

Can I bring my bridesmaid/mother/friend to have her dress altered too?

Of course, no prior notice needed if she is coming at the same time as you! Make sure she also has the dress and shoes!

How long is the appointment?

Typically, 45 minutes for wedding gowns and 15 minutes for all other dresses.

I am pregnant, when should I schedule my alterations fitting?

Please mention this in the comments when booking your appointment. Three weeks before the event is safe but feel free to reach out to Sarah Kolis with any other concerns!
