Anna Wujciak-Flynn’s wedding day was anything but ordinary—and that was exactly what made it so special.
From a family-friendly kickball tournament in the morning to a celebration that lasted until midnight, Anna and her husband Conor built a wedding day around the people, traditions, and little details that mattered most to them. And, of course, there was a beautiful Sarah Kolis connection woven throughout the weekend, from Anna’s bridal alterations to her rehearsal dinner look featuring her mom’s wedding dress.
It was a day full of love, laughter, a little bit of chaos, and a whole lot of dancing.
Anna and Conor wanted their wedding celebration to begin in a way that felt relaxed and personal, so they kicked things off with a family-friendly kickball tournament at a nearby park.

It meant Anna’s wedding morning was a little more rushed than it might have otherwise been—but according to Anna, it was “110% worth it.”
After kickball, Anna and her sisters had a special moment getting their hair done together, while Anna and her flower girls had their makeup done at the same time. One particularly sweet detail? The girls were very excited about their sparkly blue eyeliner—a little moment of girlhood that Anna remembers fondly.

When Anna first began shopping for her wedding dress at Ivory Loft Bridal, she thought she knew exactly what she wanted: An A-line silhouette, thick straps, and a large bow in the back.
As it turns out, she ended up choosing a dress with none of those three things. And yet, it was the dress of her dreams!!
Anna says she had a wonderful experience with Beth at Ivory Loft and still looks at her wedding photos regularly. Even a year later, those photos bring her the same joy they did when she first saw them. Sometimes the dress you fall in love with isn’t the dress you thought you were looking for, so keep an open mind!
Although Anna loved the strapless silhouette of her gown, she had one major concern heading into her alterations appointment. With a long, heavy train, she worried she would spend the entire wedding night pulling her dress back up. Thankfully, that never happened. Sarah Kolis had done Anna’s sister/MOH Sara’s wedding alterations in 2022, so she planned to use Sarah as well!
Sarah Kolis altered Anna’s gown so that it fit securely while still allowing her to move comfortably—and Anna put it to the test. She didn’t change into a second look. Instead, she wore her wedding dress all night and really gave it a run for its money on the dance floor.
Her favorite part? “I don’t remember adjusting a single time.” That is exactly what a great bridal alteration should allow you to do: forget about your dress and enjoy your wedding. By the way, are you waiting to book your bridal alterations?! No need, go ahead and book today! Let’s work together and getting the *perfect* fit on your beautiful dress!

Anna’s final dress pickup came just one week before the wedding, and a few details weren’t quite working the way they should once the dress was on. One of the biggest issues involved the buttons along the back of the gown. Once the dress was zipped, they weren’t sitting correctly on the belt.
Sarah and her team jumped in to make the necessary changes before Anna left the studio. There were other brides with appointments that day, the wedding was only a week away, and Sarah was preparing to leave town—but Anna says Sarah calmly and thoughtfully made sure every detail was right!
And that attention to detail made a difference. Anna says she was “absolutely obsessed” with the back of her dress and that it wouldn’t have been the same without those final adjustments.

Of course, wedding days don’t always go exactly according to plan. While Anna was getting dressed, the zipper on her gown broke. The dress fit perfectly, but something with the zipper attachment gave way. And somehow, Anna didn’t panic.
Instead, the women around her—and her photographer—went straight into problem-solving mode. Her coordinator, Jenna, actually climbed underneath Anna’s dress to help hold the zipper from below, resulting in a hilarious photo of Jenna’s foot sticking out from underneath the enormous skirt. Photographer Alex was ready with a needle and thread. And, apparently, a metal hanger helped to save the day!
Whatever the exact combination of tools and teamwork, they eventually got the zipper all the way up, and the room erupted in cheering and high fives.
Meanwhile, Anna’s groom and groomsmen were tucked away, waiting for the first look and wedding party photos. They heard all the commotion and assumed everyone was simply getting excited for Anna’s first look with her dad. Little did they know they were celebrating the fact that Anna had successfully gotten dressed.

Anna’s Sarah Kolis experience didn’t begin and end with her wedding gown. For her rehearsal dinner, she wore her mom’s wedding dress, which Sarah tailored and reimagined for the occasion. The process became a special experience for both Anna and her mom, and wearing the dress gave the weekend an even deeper connection to her family. Many family members recognized the dress throughout the evening, and Anna was honored to give her mom’s gown another special occasion. Here at Sarah Kolis, we call this service our Vintage Redesigns, and we’d love to help you reimagine an heirloom gown as a part of your big day! Learn more here!
It’s such a beautiful reminder that a wedding wardrobe doesn’t have to be limited to one dress. Sometimes the most meaningful pieces are the ones that already carry a story.

From kickball in the morning to dancing late into the night, Anna and Conor’s wedding was full of personal touches. Conor even built the reception bars himself after they couldn’t find something that matched Anna’s vision. The bright orange bars featured fun wallpaper and raw wood tops, and the couple loved them so much that they’re hoping to incorporate them into their new home.

And perhaps that’s the best description of their wedding day: it was unmistakably theirs.
Anna’s advice to future brides is simple:
“Trust your gut and your vendors, and find a way to enjoy the process.”
We’re so grateful Anna trusted Sarah Kolis with her bridal alterations—and that we got to be a small part of such a joyful, unforgettable wedding weekend. Congratulations, Anna and Conor!
