Christianna came to Sarah about 10 weeks before her wedding looking for a custom bridal gown! The original gown she bought pre-covid and two wedding postponements later no longer thrilled her, so she was looking for a change….a big change! A start-completely-from-scratch change! 

Designing for Christianna was great fun as we collaborated on exactly what style was chosen. She wanted something sleek and simple for her urban Detroit Shinola Hotel wedding on June 10th. Sarah had just made herself a strapless purple floral gown with these points a the top of the bodice, so that thought was fresh in her mind and she knew exactly how to execute. Christianna liked that idea! Then for the back, Sarah suggested adding a little detail there to make the dress both feminine and pretty, but still sleek and modern. She liked that too! We got right to work! 

Fabrics: So when designing custom couture gowns for individual brides, we choose to use 100% silk fabrics as they drape so beautifully and are the natural fiber typically found in high-end couture gowns. Christianna’s gown was no exception. 100% silk heavy crepe with a 100% silk lining is what we chose for this one-of-a-kind gown.

Christianna came for several fittings. The final fitting included a completed gown with a bustle, completed veil, and beautiful accessories. She looked so stunning and Sarah could not have been any more honored to create this look for her.

The wedding day was a beautiful June Friday in Detroit with all her closest friends and family. As you can see, she was one happy bride and so beautiful, inside and out!! Christianna says “It was a perfect weekend – we are still riding that wedding high!”
