Hi! I'm Sarah Kolis, a custom couture wedding dress designer based in Michigan but serving the whole midwest. I love creating custom gowns and alterations for clients and I have a special love for vintage fashion. Thanks for stopping by!
Hunting for the perfect bridal shoe? Check out these suggestions below to start! You will need your bridal shoes in-hand for your very first alterations fitting. This way, the gown can be hemmed to your exact shoe height.
Bridal shoes can be pretty, comfortable, and sometimes both! Be sure to truly think about your wedding and how long of a day that will be. This is not a 2 hour cocktail party that you have worn those 4 inch stiletto’s to before. This is a very long, full day and you do not want your super-cute-but-uncomfortable shoes holding you back! Plus, if we are being honest, nobody sees your shoes under your long gown anyway. Yes, I said it!
However, some of us are strong and stubborn in wanting those beautiful bridal beauties! Sarah Kolis herself is included in this beauty-over-pain mentality when it came to her bridal shoes. If you are going that route, more power to you! In this case, it is highly suggested to have a back-up pair ready and on hand. Also, bring those back-ups to your alterations fitting so the bustle can be pinned to that exact length!
The Loeffler Randall Pleated Tulle Shoe
This is a popular shoe right now! Brides say they fit a little small. Comes in both a higher and shorter block heel. HOW CUTE?!
BHLDN Seychelles Neve Heels
Bride Kellyann says these are a great height and the “sling back made it so I didn’t have to break them in, they moved with my foot”. She also suggests maybe going up a half size, especially if you are between sizes.
Bride Emily says these shoes run true-to-size and are super comfortable! The back of the heel has extra padding for comfort. The Zoya is a 2.5″ heel while the Zoey is a 4″ heel.
Find a cuter bridal flat, I dare you! Bella Belle shoes are know for their all-day comfort, and these are no exception! They also come in a 2″ and 3.5″ heel.
Remember, as beautiful as these shoes may be, make sure YOU are comfortable!
This blog post will continually be updated with more/different suggestions. Please contribute to this cycle by suggesting YOUR bridal shoes to hello@sarahkolis.com! Thanks and enjoy!
